Love Data Week 2023

Annually, from February 12 to 18, the global community celebrates International Love Data Week, an event initiated by the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), an organization focused on maintaining and providing access to an extensive social science database. This year's global theme was "Data: Agent of Change."
In partnership with the R-Ladies Chapter Banda Aceh community, ISSED conducted a competition calling participants to write data-based articles addressing the five most critical issues in Aceh. This essay competition served as a platform for individuals to showcase their analytical skills and contribute meaningful insights into the region's challenges.
In addition to the essay competition, ISSED collaborated with Aceh Institute, Pusat Kajian Statistika dan Sains Data (PKSSD) FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry, and R-Ladies Banda Aceh to organize a Guest Lecture. The event featured two keynote speakers from the ISSED team, with an introductory speech by Muazzinah, B.Sc., M.PA, Director of Aceh Institute. Dr. Selvi Mardalena, S.Stat., presented "Why You Should Love Data?" emphasizing the significance of data in contemporary contexts. Subsequently, Nurfajri Aldi, S.Stat., delivered "Indahnya Bercerita dengan Data," exploring the beauty of storytelling through data.
The collaborative efforts between ISSED and its partners aimed not only to highlight the transformative power of data but also to inspire a deeper appreciation for its role as a catalyst for positive change in Aceh and beyond.
