Love Data Week 2025: Celebrating Data with Looker Studio

Banda Aceh, February 23, 2025 - ISSED once again joined the global annual celebration of International Love Data Week by hosting an online event on February 22, 2025. This initiative, launched by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), aims to highlight the diversity of data while promoting best practices in data management.

As part of the event series, ISSED organized a Looker Studio workshop to provide hands-on experience in data visualization and management. Titled "Data to Insight: A Hands-On Guide to Looker Studio," the session featured Anggi Afifah Rahmi, a data analyst at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of Indonesia, as the keynote speaker. The event attracted more than 20 attendees from various regions, reflecting the strong interest in data-driven insights and visualization.

The workshop began with an introduction to data visualization concepts, ensuring that attendees had a solid foundation before diving into practical applications. They then explored Looker Studio as their primary tool, working through real-world case studies to create meaningful data visualizations. Enthusiasm was evident as participants actively participated in hands-on exercises and Q&A sessions.

To reinforce their learning, attendees were tasked with creating their own Looker Studio dashboards, applying the techniques they learned to relevant topics or issues. Out of all submissions, five participants successfully completed their dashboards, and the best one was selected to be featured on the official ISSED platform as a recognition and portfolio showcase. ISSED hopes that this event will inspire participants to make better use of data, and in particular to use visualization for smarter decision making.
